Roses

Two flowers from the most recent bunch of roses that I bought from Safeway. I just cannot get either of my digital cameras to record the accurate colour, which is so disappointing.

A different crop of the Rose photo I used in my Remembering "poster" posted yesterday for September 11th. Found this Rose at Green Gate Garden Centre a few months ago.

I don't usually see white roses, so these beautiful blooms caught my eye fairly recently at Reader Rock Garden. I'm posting early again today, as I am going back to look at a mystery plant from last year - and I might be tempted to go owl-looking afterwards, depending on what time we finish : )

Not sure I like this photo - looks rather an old-fashioned image, which is not really my "style" : )

Just needed a splash of bright colour, though there is a tiny splash of red in the next photo, too. Bought from Safeway.

A good thing I photographed these yesterday during the day, as by late night they were already beginning to droop. I had expected them to last at least a few days. They really are beautiful, small Roses (from Safeway, of course) and they smell so good. I set my alarm for 6:30 this morning, planning on going on a walk with a few friends. However, the sky is so overcast and it's snowing and the windchill is around 26C/28C, so I decided instead to post my photos to Flickr early and then hopefully get one or two things done today. I just have to clear some space ready for when belongings of my brother and parents are shipped over to Canada. The last few weeks, I've been telling my friends which things I would like to keep and I really have no idea how many things there now are. All I know is that I need to do some drastic tidying so that I have room for this box/boxes!

This particular kind of rose is a favourite with me - just love the white petals edged with deep pink.

I liked the way some of the petals on this gorgeous Rose curled into a point.

The pink Rose I bought from Safeway a few days ago, ready for when the big deep-freeze hit the city the next day. I repeated this today, as our temperatures are falling again. My empathy goes out to all of you who are coping with snow, freezing rain and COLD, COLD temperatures, wherever you happen to live!
