Pelican fury
Similar to my other photo of Pelicans posted recently, this one shows a few more individuals involved in the fury that is caused when a fish is finally seen. This action takes place each year at the base of the Weir on the Bow River in Calgary.

Up close and personal
Yet another Pelican photo that I took last year. Still got several more to go! I ended up with 100 OK images but I won't bore you with ALL of them, LOL!

Evening sun
The late evening sun completely changed the colour of this American White Pelican from white to golden.

The Landing
Not a very good quality photo, but it does show the huge 9-feet wingspan of these birds and the black feathers under the wings.

Patiently waiting
In August 2005, I had a great evening down by the Bow River Weir, watching the dozens of American White Pelicans hoping to catch a fish or two.

Captive
This photo taken at the Calgary Zoo made a change, as my photos of American White Pelicans are usually taken in the wild.
