Couldn't resist removing some of the petals to get a glance at the insides.

This plant was well over 6 feet tall. Both leaves and flowers are quite attractive.

We saw many of these Western Pasque Flower seedheads on the trail up to Ptarmigan Cirque, Kananaskis, Alberta. Unfortunately, we were too late to see the plants in flower. I thought the hairy seedheads were rather unusual.

An unpopular invasive weed but still beautiful.

I love the variety of colour in each Alfalfa flower. They can be anything from dark purple to yellow.
