Tree of memories

My little tree is covered in a whole mixture of decorations - my favorite ones being those from my kids (of course!). A little secret, though - these decorations have remained on the tree for about eight years now - I simply carry it down to my basement and cover it with a plastic bag till it needs carrying upstairs a year later!

Welcome

If I could invite you over, this little Christmas table would greet you just inside my front door. Nothing fancy, but you would be welcome.

A false sense of warmth

I've had this cheap, plug-in, electric "fire" for maybe 25 years. It gives no heat, just a glow, which I appreciate at Christmas.

A Christmas smile

A few of my familiar snowmen who make a ring around the base of my little tree.

Pop bottle Santa

Bought this Santa many years ago from Heritage Park (a heritage village which also holds special Christmas events) in Calgary. Based on a large, plastic Pop bottle, He always adds a cheery bit of colour.

I'm a Birder??

These are two of the gifts my youngest daughter gave me last Christmas when she came from Vancouver. For SOME reason (LOL), she seems to think I'm a birder! (Actually, I'm not a birder - I'm just someone who loves nature and taking photos of anything beautiful). I love the little Smores snowman with Field Guide, binoculars and bird on his hat.

Looking into the globe

Photo slump - need help, LOL! I've only had a chance to quickly go out and use my camera once this week. Desperation set in late tonight and I just HAD to turn it on and click, LOL! Hoping that I might get a photo or two tomorrow, when I go east of the city on a Christmas Bird Count.

Welcome - come on in

A friend made the base of this wreath for me two years ago, from barbed wire! I have it hanging in my tiny hallway, just inside the front door. My original plan was to hang it outside on my front door or wall, but then I discovered that the outside electric socket does not work. Now I love the light shining from the tiny Christmas lights cozy inside my place.

The heart of Christmas

Happened to notice that I had included a copper decoration that has a heart pattern punched into it. A heart for you, Jan!
