Delicate edging of a lily pad

I love to see the tiny bubbles and patterns that form around the edge of a Water Lily leaf/pad. This is a photo from my archives, taken in the ENMAX Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo on 9 April 2013. There are far fewer Water Lilies in the tiny, indoor pond after the dreadful Alberta Flood of the Century in June 2013. Hopefully these plants will multiply or more plants will be added.
What wonderfully mild weather we are having at the moment (9 December 2014). This morning, it's 8°C (windchill 6°C) and overcast. The sun is supposed to come out this afternoon. Temperature should be 9°C tomorrow and the next day. If only every "winter" could be like this!
