This is another photo of this beautiful little Burrowing Owl, taken on 21 July 2013, when several of us went west from Calgary to Bow Valley Provincial Park. We were going on a birding hike, but had the wonderful chance to also see an exhibit by the Coaldale Bird of Prey Centre near Lethbridge, in the park for Park's Day. I had no idea that this was taking place until we met with the leader at our meeting place - and I was thrilled to bits! Coaldale also brought with them a Short-eared Owl, a juvenile Great Horned Owl, a Barn Owl (which we don't have in the wild in Alberta), a Golden Eagle and a Turkey Vulture.
