Vibrant

Another species we saw this afternoon, when several of us went to Pearce Estate to make a note of what species were there, was the Prairie Coneflower. We don't usually see these in Calgary, so the ones we saw today, 27 August 2013, were a surprise. Ha, the reason for the dark background was that a friend, wearing dark pants, just happened to walk behind the flower when I clicked, which worked out well : )
