Trouble-maker

There were two wooden nest boxes fairly close together where I was photographing a pair of Mountain Bluebirds the other day. Several Tree Swallows were flying around and landing near the second box. This one in my photo flew around the Bluebird box a few times and landed maybe a foot away from the box entrance, looking as though it might attempt to actually go inside the box. After the second time doing this, I felt I had no choice but to stay there while the Bluebird pair were off hunting insects for their babies, ready to move forward and flap my wings - I mean arms - to make the Swallow move away : ) Nothing like feeling you are babysitting a box full of helpless youngsters.
