Where I spent yesterday

Where I spent yesterday
A birding friend very kindly invited me to go along with him for the day yesterday, driving south of the city to the Nanton and Longview areas. The William's Coulee area in particular is so beautiful. This was the view we had at one point of the drive. Love the colours of the rolling hills right now. The highlight of the day was when Rob found a Ferruginous Hawk - just the tiniest speck on the ground of one of the distant hills. No one would ever have found it if they hadn't seen one in the area before! Thanks, Rob, for also trying your very best at the beginning and end of the day, to find the Red-bellied Woodpecker that people have been seeing in High River this winter. We don't know if it has moved on, or if it was just out of the "known" area that day. A great day in glorious weather - so much appreciated!
