Up really close and personal

A few of us went for a three-hour walk in Carburn Park yesterday morning. The day started off around -20C and ended up around -2C in the afternoon. An absolutely beautiful, sunny day and such a contrast to the previous day that was snowy, miserable, and treacherous for driving. Not many birds around, but we saw at least five beautiful White-tailed Deer. Unfortunately, some people do feed these wild animals, so they are more tolerant of humans than they should be. This one walked towards us and came to within maybe 10 or 12 feet of us and then just stood there and looked at us, no doubt hoping for food (which it didn't get, needless to say). Apparently, the deer have resulted in there being more or less no wildflowers in this park.
