Golden Eagle and Raven

Golden Eagle and Raven
A really bad photo, needless to say, but I'm just posting it to show the size difference between a Golden Eagle and a Raven that was harassing it. We were treated to this extremely distant display on Sunday, when botanizing the Connop Estates near Turner Valley, a Nature Conservancy of Canada location.

"The Golden Eagle is a large, dark brown raptor with broad wings. Its size is variable: it ranges from 70 to 97 centimetres (2 ft 4 in to 3 ft 2 in) in length, has a wingspan of 150 to 230 centimetres (4 ft 11 in to 7 ft 7 in), and weighs 3 to 7 kilograms (7 to 15 lb)." From Wikipedia.

The Common Raven averages 63 cm (25 inches) in length and 1.2 kg (2.6 pounds). Wingspan is 1.3 m (48 in).

David Michael has particularly liked this photo
