Alumroot / Heuchera richardsonii

Alumroot / Heuchera richardsonii
A very blurry photo, but wanted it for my Plants of Alberta Set. This is a macro shot of Alumroot, a native wildflower, that grows in moist sites in prairie grasslands. This is as far as the tiny flower goes, so it's rather "plain" and not all that easily noticed. Photographed at Janel Butler's acreage on July 23rd, when a few of us spent the day there, botanizing.

"The species name honours Dr. John Richardson (1787-1865), who collected plants during the second Franklin expedition to the Canadian Arctic and on other expeditions to the Mackenzie River and Rocky Mountains." From "Plants of Alberta" by Royer and Dickinson.
