A bird in the hand ....

A bird in the hand ....
This male Tree Swallow was taken out of its nesting box (where there were eggs) so that he could have the number on his metal leg band checked and recorded. Friend, Sue, invited me to go with her when she did her Mountain Bluebird route on 12th June. Quite a few of the wooden nesting boxes, fixed to fences, had Tree Swallow nests inside them, many with eggs. I was out along some of the gravel backroads the later half of this afternoon, mainly photographing Tree Swallows. Was out botanizing West Bragg Creek Environmental Reserves all morning and half the afternoon. Quite a hot day today and sunny.
