Agrour Amogjar is a significant archaeological site in the Adrar massif of central Mauritania, renowned for its collection of prehistoric rock paintings sheltered in natural rock shelters at the high pass of Amogjar on the western edge of the plateau.[1]
The site features eight distinct groups of paintings from the Neolithic pastoral period, broadly dated to 4,000–2,500 years before present, which illustrate a once-greener Sahara landscape through depictions of wild fauna
