Interesting.... The obelisk was carved from Aswan granite in Domitian’s reign (81–96 CE) and is dedicated to him and the deified Vespasian and Titus. It probably stood either at the Temple of Isis and Serapis or the Temple of the Gens Flavia on the Quirinal Hill, both closely linked to the Flavian imperial cult. Its hieroglyphs are not pharaonic originals but Roman compositions praising Domitian’s restorations and divine ancestry.
