Falcone & Borsellino.

Falcone & Borsellino.
A bit of italian recent history..........

HAPPY FRIDAY!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giovanni_Falcone

Giovanni Falcone 18 May 1939 – 23 May 1992) was an Italian judge and prosecuting magistrate.[1][2] From his office in the Palace of Justice in Palermo, Sicily, he spent most of his professional life trying to overthrow the power of the Sicilian Mafia.
His life parallels that of his close friend Paolo Borsellino.
They both spent their early years in the same neighbourhood in Palermo. Though many of their childhood friends grew up in an environment in which the Mafia had a strong presence, both men fought against organised crime as prosecuting magistrates.[3] They were both killed in 1992, a few months apart. In recognition of their tireless effort and sacrifice during the anti-mafia

This is so touching it makes me cry. I remember when this happened, it was on the television news and in headlines in the newspapers of American cities. I was living near San Francisco, California at the time. It is hard to imaging having such courage as these men had.

Fabio - I think it takes a huge uprising of citizens, not just police (who are sometimes corrupt, themselves), nor the rest of the legal system. It would take a national dedication to the cause. The drug problem in the USA, fed by the Mexican cartels, would take a massive uprising of citizens, not only the legal system. Sadly, most people do not have the time, energy or mostly the courage for this. If feels like we are all trapped.

This is the first time I've ever seen the word "malaffare," so I must look it up!
