Oh, what a lovely place. I would love to go back and replace the sad memories from my only visit there...I was badly homesick at the time and it was rainy and dismal that day. I was just 21 and this point was about two weeks into a month-long trip all over Europe. I'd never been away from home that long, never visited Europe, and on top of it all, Venice smelled HORRIBLE! LOL...poor thing, I was so miserable that day but I did managed to step out of it and enjoy that amazing town for at least a little while. :) This is a wonderful shot, Annemarie!

Yes Janet, Venice is unique, but if you are only in a tourist mood, you will miss the real Vence

and yes, all this water sometimes does not smell god.....but........ in my opinion one of the most fascinating cities in the world:)
