More than 1,400 white-sided dolphins were killed Sunday night in the Faroe Islands, in what local authorities said was a traditional whaling hunt.
The killing has been denounced by marine conservation group Sea Shepherd as a "brutal and badly mishandled" massacre, and the largest single hunt in the Danish territory's history. (CNN)

How could this happen???! Humans can be so cruel!!!! I am disgusted!

This sort of slaughter has been going on for years.............each year protesters turn up and try to stop it without success. Each year the event is criticised in the press and on TV and by animal lovers and conservationists world wide. On this particular day over 1400 were killed..!!

The people responsible just don't care - even their children are encouraged to participate. It makes me sick to my stomach..!!
