Explored! Thank you very much :-) My ipernity activity has been pretty non-existent for the last week because I had a tooth extraction and I've been living on pain killers ever since!! Been back to the dentist again today and following more treatment I'm hoping the pain may be beginning to fade a little. Also, have pills to take that means alcohol is banned! Explored! Thank you very much :-) This is the new Physics building for the University of Oxford that is nearing completion. As I said previously, it will likely be a building I will photograph pretty often :-) This, therefore, is photo number 2 :-) According to Wikipedia "the main goal of physics is to understand how the universe behaves". So, for 'Sight and Sound' I have chosen "Light The Universe" by Helloween. All I know about Helloween is that they are a German band. However, I do know Candice Night :-) I'm sure everyone knows that Candice is married to Ritchie Blackmore and together they are Blackmore's Night :-) But, did Candice join Helloween for just this track ??? I'd been looking for some songs about 'looking up' and Karen very kindly suggested "Looking Up" by Elton John and "Looking Up" by Donna Summer. Explored! Thank you very much :-) I've walked past the Weston Library many times. I've stood near the entrance many times. I've walked through this entrance area and into the Library many times. But, until just recently, I had not seen this viewpoint as a photo possibility :-) Then I saw the cover of a book entitled "New Bodleian - Making the Weston Library" and the photo on the cover immediately made me think "yes, there are some photo possibilities for me here :-)) I hope the following link works. An impressive and beautiful building. "Boulder to Birmingham" was written by Emmylou Harris and Bill Danoff and features on Emmy's 1975 album "Pieces of the Sky". Bill Danoff was married to Taffy Nivert and together with John Denver they wrote "Take Me Home Country Roads". Bill Danoff & Taffy NIvert were also members of the Starland Vocal Band and they recorded "Boulder to Birmingham" as well. I hope you are following me thus far :-) My photo was taken in the grounds of Nuffield College in Oxford. I'm not a religious person so I don't know if I could have come up with a link between 'Psalm 93' and Keble College. But, on YouTube, I found 'Psalm 93' performed by the Keble College Chapel Choir. Explored! ~ Thank you very much :-))) My previous post had a link to "Clouds" and I was a little confused as to whether it was a Bread track or a David Gates track. Karen and Mick sorted out my confusion.....thanks peeps :-) Karen also gave me a link to the David Gates "First" album from 1973. On this album there is a track called "Sight and Sound". This was big surprise :-) But, of, course, I always knew that our 'Sight and Sound' Group was even more famous than I realised :-))) So, I figure I can link any of my photos to David's song :-) This is another shot from within the Blavatnik Building. 10 & 11 September 2016 was "Open Doors" weekend in Oxford when you could visit places not normally open to the public. Whenever I visited Oxford, Brasenose College was always closed to visitors and the only photos I managed to take were looking thru' the entrance. However, on 11 September the College was open as part of "Open Doors".
