Hike to Base of Pilot Rock

This was a lovely hike which took us very close to the border between Oregon and California and took us along another bit of the Pacific Crest Trail which stretches between Mexico and Canada. The half-way point of the hike took us to a gorgeous view of Pilot Rock and vistas which included Mount Shasta in the distance! As Steve and I made our way slowly back to take pictures, we met a couple who'd come from the Mexico start of the trail three months past and were heading up to the Canadian end; they said the snow up in Crater Lake was going to be their only problem. We wished them well and watched them go with wistful smiles on our faces. That's an adventure we would love to have some day! (This set of pictures will grow over the week as I will add them in small groups)
