Itty Bitty Jumping Spider on Rose Petal

Just outside our house we have a number of rose bushes, and the other day I noticed a little black speck on one of the white roses. Looking closer, I saw that it was a tiny jumping spider, only about 1/8" in diameter! It was running around on the petal acting very tough and I just had to try to get its picture!! I took about a dozen shots and I was so happy that several turned out!! YAY!! (I'll probably turn the others into a little collage which I'll post in a few weeks or so! :D)
Did you know that there are over 5,000 species of Jumping Spiders?!! WOW!!! They can be found all over the world, including the slopes of Mount Everest!! They also have some of the best vision of all invertebrates. They get their name for the fact that they can jump 10 to 50 times the length of their bodies! (And this is great fun to watch!)
If you would like to know more about these super cool spiders, Wiki has a great page here: Wiki: Jumping Spider
