Mining - Como, Nevada

In the north part of the Pine Nut Mountains. The first gold strikes were in the 1860s, and there was intermittent activity up till the early 1900s. According to Nevada Bureau of Mines Bulletin 75, there was even some production as late as the 1930s. It was also the first county seat of Lyon County! Not much there now...Como no está más. ;)

Como was the first county seat of Lyon County. Current population: 0. A wildfire swept thru here a few years back; hence the burned trees.

The BLM hasn't gotten around to filling in this one... Como was a gold mining camp that first saw activity in the 1860s, and then intermittently up to the 1930s or so. It was the first county seat of Lyon County! Current population: 0
