A perennial stream that drains the Las Vegas valley, connecting it with Lake Mead on the Colorado River system. It's unexpected in the southern Nevada desert, and a boon for wildlife--unfortunately, it now consists of treated sewage effluent!

Looking downstream; Lake Mead is beyond that brown hill in the middle distance.
