NNevada - Fang Ridge

A spur off the Reveille Range, Nye County. In the southern part of the range, off State Route 375 (The "Extraterrestrial Highway"). This part of the range is completely unmineralized, and so apart from this road there is no vehicle access! This road was built for radiation monitoring during the above-ground nuclear tests back in the 50s. The "fangs" appear to be volcanic necks--i.e., places where the magma was flowing to the surface. They're aligned along the ridge, which may have been a fissure.
