Kaiser Fluorspar Mine, Broken Hills district, Mineral County, Nevada. Active 1928-57. Fluorspar (a.k.a. fluorite, calcium difluoride, CaF2) was mined out of a vein a few inches to a few feet across in altered volcanic rocks. The surface exposure shows how the vein was dug out.
