Route of Salina Creek east of the eponymous town, and route also of I-70. It's a long, gentle climb and the freeway is paralleled by a good graded road that even includes a couple of short tunnels. Possibly it's an old railroad grade, at least in part. The descent along the frontage road from the pass makes a great bicycle route!
