Mound House Mine

Outside (yes!) Mound House, Nevada. Altho it's not far from the Comstock, it's mining an industrial mineral--gypsum--not gold or silver. Telephoto view--the powerlines were unfortunately placed!

Yeah, I have a few pix of the brand new Comstock project in the Gold HIll collection. We like the summers up here better than southern Nevada--but there _is_ a winter! ;)

I find it interesting that the mine is in a hillside, the largest gypsum mine here is in a dry lake.
