First Creek, Red Rock Canyon, Nevada
In the Red Rock Canyon BLM interpretive area, just west of Las Vegas. The area isn't really a "canyon" but a sandstone escarpment that runs along the east side of the Spring Mountains. But there are lots of canyons cutting thru this escarpment, as here!
The sandstone unit is correlative with the Navajo Sandstone of Utah and Arizona (Zion, Glen Canyon), but for historical reasons has a different name here.
