Thanks! Actually getting lost isn't so much the issue as car trouble. Have a spare tire and make sure you could install it if need be. You also want to be sure you have extra water--and that you could spend the night if you break down. It gets a lot colder overnight, even in the summer, than you might expect. Carry a parka or a sleeping bag. And _always_ fill when you see a gas station... ;)
