Proud of Her New Hat

Proud of Her New Hat
Glass plate negative found in Warrensburg, NY.
Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of UNIQUE OR OUTRAGEOUS HATS.
I think I remember reading that this type of chamber-pot-like hat was only popular for a very narrow band of years. c.1910 - 1912 and is rarely seen outside of that time frame.

Alan Mays, kiiti, Smiley Derleth, RicksPics and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

The last passenger pigeon. Excuse my levity, Deborah. This is a lovely photo with great detail visible in her ensemble and a face of great character. Your title would seem to be right on the money.

ha, Rick. Yes, I have quite a few photos of hats that would make you weep. So many millions of birds and animals slaughtered in the name of fashion.
And sometimes the dead creatures are thrown on the hats in the weirdest way!

Wow, another big chamber pot! I wonder why they were popular at that time.
