"The Landlady"
One of three named images on a page from an early 1950s album.
This is Phyllis Hazel, the landlady of my parents first home - 1 Ashburn Villas, Brookdale Road, Walthamstow.
In true English fashion she was "Auntie Phyll" to me.
She worked with my Dad and when her mother died she offered to share her home with my parents. They were thrilled to get housing as there was often a wait list of years after the war to get anything.
She visited a few times after we moved to Rayleigh. She brought me a dress of white broderie anglaise that she made for me - I totally loved it..
My mother thinks she may have emigrated to Canada.
