Back To School, Woodlands Ave, Rayleigh, Essex, England c.1961
Brought forward for the Vintage Photos Theme Park monthly theme of: BACK TO SCHOOL.
This is either the September's term first day of school or the first day of the spring term of 1961.
In England, at least then, you could begin school in the Spring term - which went from after Easter until the middle of July (in which case you got a short kindergarten experience) or in the September term where you went for a whole year (I think).
Either way, I think this was my brother's first day of school.
Pictured left to right:
1st Row: Janet Hall, Diane Hall, Nicholas Lundbech, Ruth Brown, me, Linda Whiting.
2nd Row: Frances Brown, Pauline Cox, Jill Cox
Back Row: Sheila Whiting
Janet, Diane and Linda are wearing our school (Love Lane) blazer which was royal blue with gold or orange trim. Sheila in the back is wearing the FitzwiMarc blazer which i think was red with a silver trim.

RicksPics club has replied to Deborah Lundbech clubDeborah Lundbech club has replied to RicksPics clubI have trouble having the discipline to get mine onto the computer.
And how do you handle the glass negatives you purchase? Do you have a special scanner for that? (I need a new negative and slide scanner)
Deborah Lundbech club has replied to raingirl clubMy husband, Brian, has been scanning them for me for the past few years (he made changes to the process and I handed it over to him.)
He says: Our scanner does have the capability of scanning transparencies but it's set up for smaller sizes than the glass plate negatives, so we have to "stitch" the multiple scans together.
Brian sends the scanned images to my laptop and I edit them in my photo library.
We also need a new scanner, though!
