Therese Schneider by Wagner
Therese Schneider (1839-1909); German soprano.
In 1864 she made her debut at the “Hoftheater von Detmold” as Norma in Bellini’s eponymous opera. In 1864 she was engaged at the “Stadttheater Danzig” and in 1865 at the “Deutsche Landestheater Prag”. In 1866 she made a guest appareance at Hamburg as Valentine in “Les Huguenots” and she remained at Hamburg for 3 seasons. In 1870 she was engaged at Leipzig. From 1870 until 1880 she was at the “Hoftheater von Karlsruhe”. Her most successful rôle was Medea in Cherubini’s eponymous opera.
