Herkenbald was a judge. On his deathbed he sentenced his nephew to death, because he had violated a lady. His servants did not execute the verdict, because they thought Herkenbald was dying. Herkenbald recovered and ordered his nephew to his bed. He then killed his nephew himself, as you can see here.
