Brendan Behan was an Irish playwright and writer. He was also known for his drinking. In 1961 he went to Toronto, to host a Jazz revue. It was not a success and Behan went on a drinking binge. He was arrested by the police and fined $200 in the resulting court case. He left Toronto and three years later he died.

Fort York was established in 1793 to protect the city of York, which was later to become Toronto. The fort was partly burnt down in the War of 1812, now it is a National Historic Site of Canada. Some quarters have been restored/rebuilt.

Tim Horton was a hockey player. He opened a doughnut shop in 1964. It quickly became a success, especially in Canada. Tim Horton died in 1974 when he lost control of his car. Tim Hortons was taken over by Burger King in 2014.
