Railway museum Bochum-Dahlhausen
The biggest railway museum of Germany, full with big steam engines and more. Well worth a visit. *** faut le voyage. There is a railbus from Bochum station, so you don't need a car to go there. www.eisenbahnmuseum-bochum.de (only in German I think).

Straßen-Schiene-Bus, or street-rail bus. This bus was capable of driving on tracks and on the road. Switching from one to another was rather complicated, so it never became a success. Used by the German Railway company (Deutsche Bundesbahn) and others. Fifty were built between 1952 and 1955. They were decommisioned in 1967. Comfort was low and the rear driving wheels slipped on the rails during wet weather, so combined or railway use was limited to the early years of deployement.

The 65 series date from 1951. They were German engines and only 18 were built. The only remaining one is this one. It is owned by the Stoom Stichting Nederland (Steam Foundation Netherlands) (site in Dutch, English and German). It arrived at Bochum-Dahlhausen railway museum yesterday.
