Rome 2026 – Cimitero Acattolico – Grave of John Keats

Rome 2026 – Cimitero Acattolico – Grave of John Keats
English poet (1795–1821).
The Cimitero Acattolico (Cemetery for Non-Catholics) was established unofficially in the 17th century for burial of non-catholics, who could not be buried in hallowed ground. Later it was regularised. There are a lot of graves for the English, that it is why it is also known as the English Cemetery. It also has graves for Italians who strayed too far from the Catholic faith.
