Perugia 2024 – Lady fascism
The park (Giardini del Frontone) dates from the 18th century and was the first public park in Perugia. A triumphal arch, designed by Baldassare Orsini, was erected in 1790. There are also six statues in the park, designed by the Hungarian sculptor Livia Papini De Kuzmik in 1934, orginally for a monument for fallen soldiers in another park in Perugia. After that park was bombed, the statues were placed in this park in 1943 according to this website (you might need auto-translate): www.kozterkep.hu/43636/kolteszet
She lived from 1898 to 1976. I'm not entirely sure, but the inclusion of the fasces was probably done to placate the fascist regime in Italy at that time. She also made this relief plaque of Mussolini: en.mng.hu/artworks/84126
