Chania 2021 – Spiros Kayalis
When on February 8, 1897 the flagpole with the Greek flag is hit by a cannonball, Spiros Kayalis acts as a flagpole. The Italian admiral Kanevaro is impressed and he stops the bombing. A few months later Crete becomes independent. In 1913 it becomes part of the Greek motherland.
