Verona 2021 – San Fermo Maggiore – Lower church
Technically a crypt, but known as the lower church.

The San Fermo Maggiore has a history which goes back to the 8th century. First the Benedictine monks built a new church from the 11th century. The Franciscans took over in the 13th century and they enlarged the church. The church became a normal parish church in 1807.
