England 2016 – Hatfield House – Elisabeth’s oak tree

She sat under an oak tree on this spot when messengers came to tell her that her half-sister Mary had died and that she would be Queen. The original oak tree died and the second Elisabeth planted this new one on the same spot in 1985. I don’t know whether they used an acorn or a sapling of the original.
