Fat windmill in the Hondsdijkse Polder
The windmill was built in 1644 and was originally placed just outside Leiden. In 1693 the windmill was sold to the Hondsdijkse Polder (the polder dates from 1444) , because the old windmill there burnt down. The windmill was in use until 1959, now it acts as backup and as auxiliary water pumping station.
