Richteren 14:5-9

Also ginck Simson met sijnen vader ende sijne moeder henen af, nae Thimnath: als sy nu quamen tot aen de wijngaerden van Thimnath; siet daer, een jonge leeuw, brullende hem te gemoete.

Doe wert de Geest des HEEREN veerdich over hem, dat hy hem van een scheurde, gelijckmen een bocxken van een scheurt, ende daer en was niets in sijne hant: doch hy en gaf sijnen vader ende sijner moeder niet te kennen, wat hy gedaen hadde.

Ende hy quam af, ende sprack tot de vrouwe: ende sy beviel in Simsons oogen.

Ende na sommige dagen quam hy weder om haer te nemen; Doe weeck hy af, om het aes des leeuwen te besien: ende siet, een bijenswerm was in het lichaem des leeuwen, met honich.

Ende hy nam dien in sijne handen, ende ginck voort, al gaende ende etende; ende hy ginck tot sijnen vader ende tot sijne moeder, ende gaf hen [daer van], ende sy aten: doch hy en gaf hen niet te kennen, dat hy den honich uyt het lichaem des leeuwen genomen hadde.


Judges 14:5-9

Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.

And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.

And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well.

And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion.

And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.
