One young man didn't "tip over" and fell back on the stone quay. He was not seriously hurt and managed to get out of the water under his own power. The competition was halted nevertheless.

Or fierljeppen, which means "far-leaping". Also known as Pultstock-Jumping or Ditch-Vaulting. The object is to jump across a body of water, in this case the Rapenburg, with the aid of a pole. More info here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fierljeppen
