I don't know this plant, Val. You must have green fingers / thumbs to maintain lots of houseplants. I tend to forget about them, although my one and only one seems to thrive on neglect. ;-)

An interesting plant and a lovely flower Val, I think there is a plant in the cactus house at Leicester Botanic Garden called Crown of thorns but had small leaves, i must have a photo somewhere

Thanks, Peter. What you saw at the botanical garden was indeed a Crown of Thorns. I have a red one and yellow one, and the yellow version has very small leaves. I had no idea there were other varieties of Crown of Thorns until I moved to Florida.
