Saturday Self-Challenge: Tree

This week was a challenge, considering I didn't have leaves or blossoms on any of the deciduous trees in my area yet. I have evergreens but they were hard to photograph in an interesting way. I didn't have "golden hour", either. I did take an image of a stand of white pines lining my back yard, but didn't care for it. Then my husband showed me several holly tree sprouts pushing up out of the ground in our front yard. So, I took the healthiest-looking of the lot and photographed it as best I could (looks best enlarged on black).

Oh I had a few of these in my garden and I did dig up many of them. One of the ones I failed to notice and therefore prune, is now a gangly 30 ft huge holly tree which waves around frantically when the wind is strong!!!

Good idea. A tree is still a tree no matter how big it is. This is a good contrast to those mammoth, ancient, trees from Europe we have seen this week.

Oh, isn't this just lovely. And *high five*...I was looking for baby trees too!! I looked for sprouting acorns and others too...I did find bunches of baby manzanitas and took pictures too but in the end, my silhouetted images and other pictures were more interesting so I didn't process them. Your holly is so pretty...I think you did a very nice job, Pod Sister! :)
