Black-tailed Godwit / Grutto (Limosa limosa)

A juvenile. He was a distance away and I used an extender, which I don't like to do, not when the resulting shot doesn't have the bird filling the frame. Instead I had to crop as well, so not too much detail on the bird. Still, my first juvenile Godwit so I've added it to the set.

He came too close... The whole colony was up in the air, alarmed by a buzzard passing over.

Black-tailed Godwit / Grutto (Limosa limosa)

My first trip to the countryside this year. Lots of activity deep in the fields where I can't go, so I needed to be very patient and wait for them to come my way. This one did. Taken late afternoon. The Terns hadn't arrived yet, which was my prime reason for riding out. The Swallows are back and breeding though. It's going to be fun shooting them again this year!
