There is a Great Tit nest about 3 feet away from him and the parents are flying about, very nervous and sounding the alarm. So yes, he is definitely bird watching here! Thanks, Sas.

Thank you kindly, Janet!! He had his eyes on a couple of Blue Tits who were feeding their offspring in a nest just next to him. Scary stuff really. But he was very cute and rather cuddly, so I took his pic. :)
