The whole of coastal Catalonia was used by the Romans as part of a route towards Hispania Ulterior (Further Spain). Plaque with the city's name, dedicated to the Barcino colony by the Divus Augustus priests. Dated around 110-130 AD, it comes from Plaça de Sant Miquel. It could have been fixed to a door, possibly at the Divus Augustus College, near the baths, or on the gate.

Porta Pretoria (the Pretorian Gate, now the Portal del Bisbe), the north-west entrance to the city of Barcino. The arch on the left hand side is a modern reconstruction. The road through this gate would have been the Decumanus Maximus.

Fragment of a milestone from the Via Augusta, found in Hostafrancs in 1888. From the beginning of the 3rd century AD it was sited on the edge of the Via Augusta bearing an honorific inscription, the name of the road and the number of miles.
