CicLAvias, June and October 2013
Folder: Local Events
June: Six miles of Wilshire Blvd., a major avenue of Los Angeles. Sunday, 9am-4pm. NO CARS. It was strange and lovely and full of bicycles and pedestrians and families and fun.
October: same thing, but seven miles, in downtown Los Angeles.

I got a cookie at Milk Jar Cookies during my walk down Wilshire today, for CicLAvia, next to Whimsic Alley.

There were clusters of food trucks along the 6-mile route of CicLAvia. This was the bunch of trucks at Rimpau Ave.

Ebell of Los Angeles
Saw this on my walk during CicLAvia (I walked from the Koreatown metro stop to the Craft and Folk Art Museum, about 2.7 miles). Never heard of the Ebell, wasn't sure what it was, but wikipedia knew:

Six miles of Wilshire Blvd was closed for most of Sunday to allowed bicycles and walkers to enjoy the city of Los Angeles car-free.
This is near the LaBrea Tar Pits.
